  • No action is required from clinicians
  • CMS will calculate cost measure performance
  • You are being held accountable for the overall cost of care for the beneficiaries that are attributed to your practice, including all Part A and Part B claims
  • Data will be collected from a 12 month performance period

CMS’s goal is to assess both cost and quality of care measures so that clinicians can achieve better patient outcomes and smarter spending. Events such as hospitalizations, readmissions, and certain complications can be identified through claims analysis and can inform on the quality of care furnished during an episode. Because CMS rolls up all Medicare Part A and Part B charges for attributed patients, you will be held accountable for their overall costs of care, whether it is provided in the hospital or office setting.
