Bio
Stephen Beres is a board certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) at the Memory Care Center. Stephen is a recent graduate of the Yale School of Nursing, where he earned a Master’s of Science in Nursing. He comes to the Memory Care Center after completing the Annie Goodrich Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Fellowship, a 10-month training program in Geriatric Psychiatry at the Institute of Living in Hartford, CT. Stephen’s clinical interests include assessment and management of neuro-cognitive disorders and rapidly progressive dementias, cognitive effects of poly-pharmacy in older adults, and management of behavioral and psychological symptoms in dementia. Stephen emphasizes evidence-based interventions and patient-centered care in his clinical practice. Stephen is a member of the American Nurses Association, Connecticut Nurses Association, American Geriatrics Society, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
